How do I sync the iCloud Drive (Archive) with iCloud Drive?

Is there a simple way to sync the iCloud Drive (Archive) with iCloud Drive? I understand what Apple is trying to do with the (Archive) but it's driving me crazy. I tried to start using iCloud instead of Dropbox but I'm frustrated by the complexity of iCloud (I thought Apple was supposed to have a simple user interface).

I have lots of files and folders in iCloud but for whatever reason, some files are in the iCloud and others are in the Archive. I'd like to get them synced and then delete the Archives.

Drag the files out of archive and into your iCloud Drive however you wish to organize them. The archive file only appears when you sign out of iCloud or turn off sync.

You'll need to move the files where you wish. The archive folders will only contain data on your Mac when you logged out of iCloud or turned off iCloud sync. It retains your data as it was at that time. But, the files may indeed be duplicates of what is currently in iCloud. This is an unusual occurrence and only happens when the user changes their settings.

I am having the same problem. It is not that a few select folders are in one place or the other. Almost all my documents are in both so comparing to make sure I'm getting the right ones is huge.

Hopefully someone has a process for an automatic compare to ensure I get the latest of each file.

Thanks, but then I would have duplicate folders that don't have matching content - some files in the original version of the folder and different files in the archive version of the folder.
