IPhone 13..traveling abroad. Now what?
First time traveling abroad with iPhone 13. Going to South America. Do I buy a SIM card there?

The best approach is to convert your current SIM to an eSIM (you can do that on the Settings/Cellular menu) to free up the SIM slot; you can then install a local SIM. This will have its own local phone number, not your regular number.
If you are a novice using your home carrier’s roaming service will probably be easier (assuming your carrier is Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile)

Yes, I have AT&T. Thanks again.
Their plan is particularly nice. Just be sure you sign up for it before traveling and get a confirmation. It’s $10 a day for any day that you use cellular service, with a $100 limit per billing period.
You have several options. If it is for a short visit (a few weeks) probably the best plan is to subscribe to your carrier’s roaming plan. The 3 major US carriers will extend your home plan for traveling out side of the US for a fairly reasonable fee, typically $10 a day for any day where you use the cellular network (no charge for using Wi-Fi). T-Mobile doesn’t charge anything if you have a Magenta Max plan. So check with your carrier first.
The next option is to get a local SIM card; your phone supports 1 physical SIM and one eSIM. You can usually get them when you arrive at the airport.
Thank you. I’m really a novice..so if I purchase a local SIM card, is it more secure for me to change it?
