Macbook Pro 2015 15 inch wont power on, no chine, makes weird noise when plugged in

I was given this MacBook and said if I could fix it, it’s mine. I’m a computer geek and I have no idea what’s going on. I’ve googled around and no one is having the same issue.

the MacBook won’t power on at all, no chime, nothing in the screen, nothing lights up except for the charger.

When I do have it plugged up, a whirring noise comes out the left side. It’s a short but repetitive whir-whir-whir over and over again until I unplug it. Only for it to happen again as soon as I plug it back up.

ive tried resetting the SMC. Only thing I can think it is, is the power supply or logic board.

Try a PRAM Reset as well (hold for three chimes if possible). You may want to try using a wired external USB keyboard in case the built-in keyboard has a problem.

The noise you are hearing is most likely the fan.

Many times the battery can prevent an Apple laptop from powering on or booting. Try disconnect the battery from the Logic Board and attempt to power it on using only the charger. Just be careful not to let any metallic or conductive item or surface come into contact with the exposed internals while doing this test.

If this doesn't work, look for signs of liquid damage which can include liquid residue and even bluish/greenish spots of corrosion on the electronics...sometimes it can be very easy to see while other times it may require a close examination with a magnifier since all it really takes is a spot of corrosion as tiny as a dot (aka a period). Of course the bottom may appear good and the damage could be hidden on the other side of the board. Check to see if any of the keys seem to stick or feel spongy which would suggest some sort of spill on the keyboard. Even check the inside of the removed Bottom Case for signs of liquid residue. Look to see if any of Apple's liquid contact sensors have turned pink or red indicating liquid damage (they normally are small round white stickers about 1mm in diameter). FYI, if you remove the Logic Board, be very careful since it is easily damaged as are many of the cables & connectors. The internal video connector and the Speaker connections to the Logic Board are the most easily damaged....I have actually had the speaker connector on the Logic Board lift up from the Logic Board when attempting to disconnect the speakers since they fit together so tightly....this happens even when I'm using extreme care knowing it can happen. If it lifts or breaks from the Logic Board, there really is no way to reinstall it.
