Air Tag set up by another user
My grandson activated my air tag on his phone. He has now disconnected from his phone. How do I connect to my phone now that the tag has been removed. My phone can't locate the air tag.

Ask him if he also removed this AirTag from his Apple ID ... as, not doing so, you will not be able to set it up with your iPhone. I am, of course, assuming that you both have your own Apple IDs ... correct?
In case he needs to know, the proper way to remove an AirTag from an Apple ID is the following steps:
- On the iPhone that was used to set up the AirTag (in this case, his), tap on the Find My app.
- Bring the tag near the phone.
- On the bottom of the app, tap on "Items."
- Tap on the AirTag that you want to remove.
- Swipe down until you can see the "Remove Item" option. Then tap on it.
This should remove this tag from his Apple ID.
He now has the option to reset it. This would restore the tag to its original "out-of-the-box" state.
Now to set up this tag, you will need to first reset it (if he didn't do so already).
