MacBook Air M2 closed on a docking station, can it support 2 displays?

If a 2023 MacBook Air M2 is closed on a docking station will it be able to extend 2 displays?

(1 being the original from the MacBook - just not on the MacBook Air screen because it is closed, and the other being a monitor) does that make sense?

As far as I can tell, all Apple Silicon Mac notebooks that use 'base' M1/M2/M3 chips have a limit of one external display – whether the lid is open or closed.

Mac notebooks that use 'base' chips include:

  • 13" M1 and M2 MacBook Airs
  • 15" M2 MacBook Airs
  • 13" M1 and M2 MacBook Pros
  • 14" M3 MacBook Pros using the base M3 chip (rather than a M3 Pro or M3 Max chip)
