Battery Charging Optimization- 80% Limit

am using iphone 15pro last 2 months, but i just enabled battery charging optimization mode upto 80% limit, but its when i plugged into charger last 2 /3 times its going above of the set limit. I dont know why this happen, because i just set the charging limit to 80% still charging above that limit, the what is the use of that option. This is not only for me, my friends also have the same issue, so please let me know why this happend again and again. Also the cycle count, am just charge my phone above 25% to 80% but now my charging cycle was completed almost 10. How so, can u help me to overcome these two issues. Need an assistance asap.

Here is the fix. After your phone has discharged to around 70%, go into settings and turn off all battery charging optimisation. Then reboot your phone, then go back into settings and turn the 80% limit back on.

This worked for me.

I same like you before updating ios 17.2.1 the charging limitations was applied after the device updated the the limitations not applies also the battery is so so bad drained quickly i can charge it 4 times per day so i leave my iphone 15 pro max until apple release new update

The 80% limit applies to when you are charging the phone on a regular basis. The phone learns when you use the phone and when you don't. It then only charges up to 80% if you are leaving it sit overnight. It then fully charges before you normally use it in the morning. If you have an erratic schedule you may find that throws off the timing some.
