App Store keeps spinning after buying Final Cut

Hi guys,

I am trying to purchase Final Cut Pro from the AppStore on my M1 MacBook Pro.

I click Buy, enter my password, go through the bank verification steps and then on the top right corner of the window after I clicked I’ve approved in my banking app, a small circle keeps spinning forever and nothing is downloaded.

I have checked my online banking and no money has been taken so I’m not sure if this step is failing or if it’s something local on the laptop.

Anyone any ideas?

You would think anything costing €350 would be seamless…

Without full information I'm going to suggest a few generic things to try.

If you have any antivirus or cleanup apps installed uninstall them using the developer's instructions
Shut down all running apps and try again
Restart in safe mode followed by a normal restart and try again

I got it sorted by adding PayPal as a payment method and paying that way…

No idea why paying via a Visa card wouldn’t work…

You might want to verify you have plenty of drive space available. Here are some methods to check that and then also how to clean up some space:

It is generally considered optimal to always keep at least 15% to 20% of the Total Drives’ Capacity to be kept as Empty Space, to allow the system to do its general housekeeping tasks. Allowing the computer to drop below these levels will eventually cause reduced or poor system performance.

Restarting in safe mode and back to normal again didn't fix it either...

I closed all open apps except the app store and I don't have any antivirus running on my Mac!

A free app seems to download just fine so it must be something to do with taking payments... The fact that my banking app pops up with a notification for me to approve must mean the issue isn't with the bank side of the process. Apple must not be getting the confirmation to proceed with the purchase...
