How to download apps on iphone 8 / ios 16?

Hello there! I'm trying to revive my old iphone 8 to use it for a couple of weeks while i'm between phone contracts.

Since i cant move my current iphone 14 onto the iphone 8, i have to manually install the apps i'm going to need.

Weirdly enough i can only download and use third party apps.

I cant download "Books", "Podcasts", "Notes", "Contacts" and so on. They didnt load upon a fresh ios 16 install so i manually quit all the downloads and then trying to download them from scratch didnt work. It just says "Books" cant be installed right now, please try at a later point.

Did anyone go through this?
