New Mac book pro running Sonoma 14.2.1 and constant notifications about background items added for MS OneDrive. I have seen some suggestions to uninstall the app. I need to have Onedrive for work compatibility. How do I stop the constant barrage of notifications?

These are not OneDrive notifications they are from system and there is no option to disable them in the system settings, without turning off the ability to open automatically at login
Perhaps you can provide a Screen Shot of these Non OneDrive Notifications ?
Then post the image using the " Image Insertion " icon.
