Iphone 13 backup to MacBook Air slow

Im trying to sync my iPhone to download music from my MacBook to my iPhone 13.

The phone begins the backup and then stops at step 3. And just sits there until I eventually get frustrated and unplug the phone.

When I plug it back in it allows me to skip back up and syncs the music quickly.

any ideas on the backup issue ?

Im connecting directly to the Mac using a cable

iPhone 13, iOS 17

If you are patient the backup will eventually finish. If you don’t let the backup finish you will end up with a corrupted backup, which is useless for restoring the phone. If you don’t care about losing data then it’s OK to cancel the backup. For now, you should delete the backup to fix a possibly a corrupted backup and so it starts over next time; in Finder on the iPhone Summary page click Manage Backups, click on the backup, then click Delete.

Ok. So I think I have now resolved the issue. however I haven't had time to try it out. Firstly I realised that after updating to Sonoma my Date time had reverted back to the factory original 2018. Because of this my MacBook whilst connected to my wifi refused to connect to the internet.

Apple Support took me through the steps to reset the time date using TERMINAL

Once it had the correct time the internet connected OK. SO I am now assuming that the since should work fine on my iPhone.... fingers crossed
