Can't seem to get a good quality export from FCPX on video from a DJI drone. The video is super clear when I open it directly to Quick Time. But once I drop into FCPX and export as a project the video quality drops substantially. Attached is screen shot from QT inspector as well as a shot from my FCP export setting of the same file. Could it be settings?

I think you missed an important point by Terry and Tom:
Your original file is 3840x2160, but your project is only 1280x720.
Your exported file is thus 1280x720.
I suggest that you duplicate your project, then open the copy, press Command-J, then press Modify. Change the frame size to 4K: 3840x2160, then export. Compare that exported file to the previous version. Can you see the difference? It should be very noticeable.

You can’t change the frame rate of an existing project with media in it. You can copy the contents of the existing project, make a new project with the correct frame rate, and paste into that. It would be better if the project frame rate matched the media frame rate.
Are you viewing the exported 1280x720 scaled up to HD or 4K? That could make it blurry.
The current size is twice the actual size. The exported file is being scaled up. How does it look at actual size?
I am a bit confused about this. If I open the file in QT from the card @ 3552 x 1998 (screen shot below) it looks amazingly crisp. The video loads into FCP from the card at 3840 x 2160 (2nd screen shot)

One more question. I can change the file size 3840x2160 but it will not allow me to change the frame rate. It was shot at 24 fps but it is now listed at 60 fps. Will that matter and how do I correct it?
I am opening the exported .mov file from FCP in QuickTime. Here is the inspector form the exported file in QT. Does this answer your question?
