Recorded video has only sound, no picture -- HELP!

I previously recorded a video on my iPhone. Unfortunately, when I go to play the video it's only a white screen. I attached the video in an email to myself and when I play the emailed video, there is audio, however still no picture. I have tried restarting my phone and logging into iCloud on my computer, but the video is only an exclamation point and doesn't play anything. Is there any chance of recovering the picture/video? I have seen a number of forums with this same topic, but no solutions through Apple thus far -- has anyone had success?
