Unable to install update iPhone

Hello, I am currently trying to download the IOS 17.2.1 update on my iPhone 11 but I keep receiving a notification saying “an error occurred installing IOS 17.2.1”.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

Try and delete the update file and download it again

  1. Go to Settings > General > [Device name] Storage.
  2. Find the update in the list of apps.
  3. Tap the update, then tap Delete Update.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest update.

if this is not working please update via a pc or Mac instead

I have recently encountered this error with my upgrade. Just solved.

NOTE: Even tho you have cleared space for the download - the Installer still requires space to complete the upgrade.

For instance, I was on 62/64GB after the download, but needed to clear another 3+GB before the installer would work.

Removal of apps is the easiest way as you can reinstall those post upgrade (I had 55/64GB remaining when complete).

Best of luck

Mine did the same, rebooted and says 1%battery. Put in charger and says 0%charging. Keeps dying and reboots. Leave on charger and hours later decides there is 40-70%battery. Got to the stage where phone became useless and I took it to repair and got new battery. Hope it doesn’t f up again…starting to get reeeeal ******.

still can’t update.

delete from storage and try download again.

same error, some bs about not being connected to the internet.

Great tech terms, but end users need more. Soft reset means: shut your phone off and restart it, in plain English. Clear cache and cookies means… well, it means you need to know what app to do this for. OS updates aren’t running through Safari, at least in a visible way, so please be specific as to where these functions be performed.
