will the Apple Pencil usb-c work with my iPad 8th gen? I know the Apple website says no but not why. Is it just because of the charge ports are different or is there another comparability issue?

it is not because the charghing ports, it is because the new pencil uses a different technology, and you need to have IpadOS 17.1 (ipad 8th gen has IpadOS17.1)

Start a new post. State which exact iPad model you have and the Apple Pencil you are trying to use with it. Also provide us with what you have tried, so far yourself, to resolve this issue.
I mistakenly purchased a Pencil usb-c. I have a iPad 8th gen. Will they work together? I know I cannot charge the pen with this iPad and that’s ok. I just want it to work as a pencil
