I need to reset the iphone 11 passcode

Otherwise, there is an Apple article that explains what to do if you have forgotten an iPhone or iPad passcode. Click on the following link: If you see an iPhone or iPad unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support

If that is not an option, you will need to use a computer. See: If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support

It's very new -- iOS 17 I think.

I hadn't heard about it. I'm of mixed feelings about how it might be used/abused. I'm going to have to think more about it. But, in some situations, it looks as if it could be very helpful.
