Update Safari on older model iphones

I could not access a website with my iPhone 6 Plus. Why? I could access Apple. I cannot update IOS because of the phone’s age. Am I being forced to purchase a new phone even though my phone works perfectly in other ways.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

You are running up against the fact you have a nearly 10 year old iPhone, which is no longer supported and many apps won't run on such an old device. If you already have a working version of the Firefox app, you could try to use it. But the Firefox app requires an iPhone which can run iOS 15, which an iPhone 6 is not capable of running.

You're going to have to accept that technology moves forward and there comes a time when a 10 year old device simply can't cut it anymore.

It’s hard to guess with so little information. Here are just a few examples of what’s missing:

  • What website?
  • What do you see when you attempt access?
  • What error messages appear?
  • Any special access associated with your scenario, perhaps:
    • VPN?
    • Anti-virus?
    • Private browsing?
    • Cellular data?
