Want duration of images for slideshow to be 4 sec but they come out 10 sec's even though the system is set for 4 sec's

Trying to do a slideshow using multiple still images w/ a 4 sec duration and 1 sec transition and the system reveals it is set at those specs, but when I import the pics it comes out 10 sec durations and 1 sec transition. I have repeatedly re-imported to no avail. Help!

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.1

There is a bug where even if a still image is set to 4 seconds in the environment settings, it becomes 10 seconds or longer when inserted into the timeline. There may be differences depending on the usage environment, but in my environment a bug occurs. Intel MacBookPro2020, Ventura13.6, FCP10.6.10/10.7

In some cases, a still image was inserted and the duration was displayed as 23 hours!😂

There is also a technique to overwrite a still image in a gap with a specified duration. It will be useful to remember, so I will introduce it to you.👍

1. Insert gap into timeline with option+W →⌘A →control+D →400 enter

2. All 4 seconds gaps

3. Select still image →Select gap →Overwrite from starting point with option+R
