I’d like to make a purchase on Amazon but the last time I did that with my personal debit card, my card was hacked into and I was charged for items that I didn’t purchase.!! Is my Venmo debit card going to be safe from something like this happening again????

Amazon does not accept Apple Pay (Apple Pay is the forum that you posted your question to). Neither Venmo nor Amazon are owned or operated by Apple.
I'm not sure why you posted the question in an Apple forum. Personally, I've purchased from Amazon for years with a credit card and never ha an issue but I can't make any statement about what happened to your or what might happen in the future.
