Magic Mouse 3 compatibility with Late 2012 iMac

The current version of the Magic Mouse will work with your Mac, as long as it's running OS X 10.11 or later.

MacTracker does not have any records of a Magic Mouse 3 – only of a Magic Mouse, and a Magic Mouse 2.

I was wondering if maybe the Mac's Bluetooth version explained why a Late 2012 iMac would not be on the official compatibility list. But according to MacTracker, the late 2012 iMacs implement the same version of Bluetooth (4.0) as one of the iMacs (iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)) that is on the compatibility list.

FWIW, these are the iMacs Apple considers compatible.
