I will like to know if I can update my software with out a computer

Check the Software Update function in Settings.
If your unit is on 12.5.7, it isn't capable of 13 or above.
If the gap between the installed and latest version for your model is too large, you can't.

If it specifically says to use a computer, you can't.
If it's saying there isn't enough free space on the iPad, delete or offload content from it.
