Ever since the 17.2 update the search function in my contacts does not work. My contacts all come from my Outlook Exchange account through iCloud. All the contacts show correctly in my contacts list, and all other applications can find them, but the only way to search is to scroll through the list, and with 5600 contacts it takes time. Any suggestions? I have deleted the account and reset it several times.
iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17
Go to Settings>Contacts>Siri & Search
disable Show Contact Suggestions .
This will resolve the contact search lag and freeze issue.

I’m having the same issue. Cannot search for any of my nearly 3,000 contacts. Have to manually scroll
by alphabetical order. And cannot search details of contacts, which was one of the best features. So frustrating! Does apple not have a fix for this yet? I’ve rebooted my phone several times and even deleted the contacts app and reinstalled it to no avail. Help!
