  1. Restart & Update: First things first, restart your MacBook Pro. After it boots up, check for any macOS updates. Go to the Apple menu, hit 'About This Mac', and click on 'Software Update'.
  2. Tweak Display Settings: Jump into System Preferences, then Displays. Play around with different resolutions and refresh rates. Also, if you've got 'Automatic brightness' on, turn it off and see if that changes anything.
  3. NVRAM/PRAM Reset: This can sometimes fix display issues. Shut down, start up again, and immediately hold down Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds. Wait for the Apple logo to show up and disappear twice.
  4. SMC Reset: For models with T2 chips (2018 and later), shut down, hold right Shift, left Option, and left Control for 7 seconds. Keep holding them and press the power button for another 7 seconds. Release, wait a bit, then power on. For older models, it's Shift + Control + Option and the power button for 10 seconds, then release and power on.
  5. Safe Mode & Diagnostics: Boot in Safe Mode (hold Shift during startup) to see if the issue's still there. Also, run Apple Diagnostics - restart and hold down the D key.
  6. External Interference: Make sure there's no electromagnetic stuff messing with your MacBook. Sometimes external monitors or even certain power sources can cause screen flickering.
  7. Test with External Monitor: Hook up an external monitor. If the flickering's only happening on your MacBook's screen, it's probably a hardware issue with the display.
  8. Console for Errors: Open up 'Console' in Utilities. Check the system logs for any weird errors or warnings that keep popping up when the flickering happens.
  9. Third-Party Graphics Software: If you've got any graphics-related software from third parties, make sure they're up to date. Or just uninstall them temporarily to test things out.
  10. Apple Support Time: If none of this works, it's time to hit up Apple Support. Give them any error codes or log details you've found. They will likely perform the same steps I've outlined here and if they can't determine the reason will most likely recommend replacing the hardware.

And remember, if your MacBook's still under warranty or you've got AppleCare+, let Apple handle it before you try anything too invasive.
