Group message photo automatically changes

My family had the same issue. Think it may be because some of us had the latest iOS update (and no error messages) and others had not updated yet (and got the "x has updated/changed the group photo" message). After updating, it seemed to fix the issue.

This started happening to me with iOS 17 and the problem has continued through all updates (currently 17.3). When I send a text, it says another user changed the photo. The other users see a message that I ‘removed’ the photo. The group photo does not actually change or disappear. It’s just a lot of annoying messages every time I text a group chat. Happening in multiple chats (all iOS users)

Same!! This is really annoying, this is happening to me with a group chat with 4 of my friends, everyone is running 17.4, and whenever I even text or say something, immediately, it shows up that I changed the group photo, and now all of my friends are annoyed at ME even though I didn’t do anything, APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS GLITCH.

My friend left the group chat and it’s saying shes changing the group chat photo and she’s not in it. At first it was no change, but now that I have actually changed the photo to a different one, it’s saying she’s changing it back and it reverts back to the old one! I even deleted the old one off the saved photos under the chat and it popped back up again.

This is happening to me too in a way. But my phone is actually changing the group photo.

It’s really embarrassing at times

This just started happening to me after I changed the photo and name on a group text. I believe this is an Apple glitch that they need to fix. It is very annoying!!!!

We have the same problem in a four-person chat and it is happening more frequently (8-10 times a day), and sometimes switches to a skull and crossbones, which seems a little more concerning

Same but with a group photo. Someone else in the group's phone keeps changing the group photo to the middle finger and she has no idea how it is happening.

We need Apple to address this issue. It is clear that this issue is a defect resulting from updating the phone. Is anyone from Apple tech really looking at this problem? If so, speak up!

This is happen to me as well keep it back unsent.i turn off my phone. Same . Never Changed .it is very annoying .Is unsent. Oh my…Apple need to fix it. Gid bless y’all.☮️❤️‍🩹🙏
