Why can't I receive verifications codes sent as text messages? When asked to receive a verification text code I DO NOT receive them. The only one I get is from apple which is a POP UP not a text message.

Verification Code Messages Unreceived i am currently using iphone 11. However, I am NOT able to receive texts for verifications/security codes from short SMS numbers. For example, when logging into any websites, they send me an SMS with a security number that I need to input into the websites to login. they said the code been send but i never received it. It started about 6 weeks ago.

Probably because someone is entering their phone number incorrectly.

Block the sender if that's not a service you use.
