I have not been able to upgrade my browser to current additions of chrome Safari, etc. they download but don’t seem to function. Is it possible my computer is too old and can’t be upgraded? Currently I have the capital OS X Yosemite.
Yes, macOS 10.10 Yosemite is very old so there are very few browser options to access the Internet these days.
It would really help to know the exact model of your Mac. You can get this information by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac". It is possible you may be able to upgrade to a more recent version of macOS which may have more options for browser support. I know you can definitely upgrade to at least macOS 10.11 El Capitan, but that really won't make much difference.
