Forget email address

I have a 2010 Mac Pro with OSX 10.13.6.

In Mail it remembers and suggests old email addresses after I have updated a contact and removed the old address.

Is there a way to make Mail forget the old addresses?

Yes indeed my friend..

Mail>Window>Previous Recipients, highlight the ones you don't want & click the Remove from list button.
