My ipod touch 7th generation got water under its screen and will turn on, but wont respond to anything i tap on the screen

The day after when i got water in my ipod touch i just left it to dry while i was sleeping. When i woke up and tryed it it would respond but it was going wonky because of the water in the screen. Then I turned it off and back on and then the screen wouldnt respond at all, but the buttons will. I dropped it in a rice bucket, it there anything else I can do?
