About ios 17 update

Me and my friend bought 2 ipad 5 mini for both of us.. after showing update ios 17 my friend update his mini5 to os 17 and after update a pink line arrived in his disply(left side) Now i got afraid to update my ipad 5 mini to ios 17 what should i do?please give me some suggestions. Thank you.
