got some refurbished airpods and it has someone’s name on it and wont let me change it

Did you reset the AirPods back to factory default settings?

Return AirPods to factory settings

AirPods (all generations) or AirPods Pro (all generations): Put the AirPods in their case, close the lid, then wait 30 seconds. 

Open the lid, then press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white.

If you did do this and problem is still there, you should return the AirPods for a refund.

The issue is that the owner did not remove these AirPods from being associated with their Apple ID. Until they do remove it from their ID, they will be useless to you. Resetting will not change that fact.

If you don't know who the owner is, return them for a full refund.

if it was me then I would return them to where they were purchased and they could resolve the issue
