Display turns off after power disconnected from MacBook

Hello.

I use a docking station for my M2 MacBook Air connected to a Samsung display through a Satechi docking station.

I do not want to damage the battery by keeping it plugged in 24/7, so I unplugged it. The video on the Samsung display cut out and said "No Signal."

The only way to alleviate this is to open the laptop. However, I have a rather small desk and I need that space. Preventing "automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off" in battery settings does not fix the issue.

Any help?

Your MacBook Air has Optimized Battery Management, which is actually very good and allows you to keep your MacBook Air plugged in at all times with absolutely no damage to the battery. I've been using MacBooks since 2016 and leave them plugged in 95% of the time. So my advice is to simply keep your MacBook Air plugged in.
