MacOS Sonoma printer error: Filter Failed

After upgrading my hardware and software to Mac Mini M2 Pro running Sonoma 14.2.1, my computer would readily recognize my printer, an HP CP1525nw, but attempts to print were met with the error "Filter Failed."

The usual step of reloading the OS and rebooting, Reset Printing System, Delete installed printer drivers, downloading the latest drivers, and reinstalling and so forth -- these steps usually work, but in this case they did not.

The printer would not connect via WiFi at all, but it was recognized readily via a USB 2.0 Type B to Type A cable connection. This USB cable worked fine with my previous iMac and the printer.

Resolution: The printer also has a Cat-8 ethernet port. I used this to connect a Cat-8 cable between the printer and the Mac Mini, and it worked fine.

I wanted to post this information for anyone who has been struggling with this issue, that in addition to a software issue, it may be a hardware incompatibility issue.
