App store requires Apple ID password despite having all the corresponding settings adjusted.

I want to download a lot of things, but I cannot because it’s my uncle phone. He don’t have to pay but he gave phone to me. I was trying to get the password for months and years now, but I cannot so can you please please give me some idea to get a face ID because I do not have it. I had it, but I don’t know we’re having it probably deleted. I can go on my settings for all that, but I do not know how to do this so please please, help me and you help me so much help me

When trying to get an app the 11xr asks for a password because of a previous purchase and I enter the 6 number code I use to open the phone and no luck. Screen shot

Confirm, same issue with my new Iphone 15 pro, after latest update 17.2.1. Tried everything, only solution for me was to turn face id completely for itunes and app store.

Same issue on my 14 pro max. Followed all the typical tips and tricks and some in this thread. Nothing.

Glad I’m at least not the only one.

Somehow it fixed by itself. I just logged in another time next day in AppStore, and it was solved.

Update: my cleared up on its own. I think it was a weird cache situation that just needed time to be sorted out.

Exactly what happens with mine! I followed these instructions precisely but it didn’t fix mine. I’ve had this problem for a few weeks now with no success!

This fixed it for me: Settings>Screentime>Itunes & App Store Purchases>Require Password> change from always require to don’t require

Please teach me how I’ll do the setting on my phone I want to remove the Face ID do any time I want to download he should be asking for password Not Face ID because the r Face ID cam is not working
