I recieved an apple gift card for christmas today and i redeemed it. Later i went to purchase something and it wouldn't let me use the funds that I had previously added. it just showed the image below.

I had this problem too! Ensure it’s not set to “Apple Pay.” & then, for whatever reason, you must have a verified debit/credit as a backup payment method - and then it SHOULD work. Took me a lot of trial & error. Very frustrating - hope this helps!
Thanks, but I don't have a debit/credit card because I'm to young, I find it dumb that it's even required anyway.
