More indents for TOC in sidepanel in Pages Sonoma 14.1.2

I am building a document with a bewildering number on heading types. (The structure comes from a very old document that I am summarizing.) Indenting each heading type in the TOC helps to make the structure less confusing. So far I am up to heading. I suspect I will need 15+. Pages by default allows indents for headings 1 and 2. In the edit TOC button, all the other indent buttons are greyed out. Is there any way that I can increase the indent for more of the heading types in the sidebar?

They are set in stone and can’t be changed:

Change the indentation of entries: Tap the indent or outdent button to the right of a selected style. If a button is dimmed, you can’t move the entry in that direction.

No, you can only move the indent twice before it's greyed out. You can use as many headings as you like, but the indenting will still be those two indents and then it stops. Have you tried creating different headings (duplicated from Heading 1 and Heading 2 and renaming them) to help differentiate between your sections?

Microsoft Word has ToC facilities with far more flexibility designed into it than does Pages. You need to be using the right tool for the task at hand, and Pages may not be that tool for what you want to accomplish.
