iPhone 11 won’t connect with hdmi adapter

I have an iPhone 11 running on 16.1.1 I’ve seen many people have the same problem but none of the trips or tricks helped. I’ve already turned on accessories and tried restarting my iPhone afterwards, but it still doesn’t work. The adapter and hdmi cable are brand new so I know they’re not the problem. I’m plugging it into a projector with nothing else plugged into it. This is seriously frustrating and I don’t want any simple solutions like ‘restart and plug it in again’ or ‘make sure your cables are plugged in’ I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t already tried that
