Password does not work when try first software update to mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1

This is a new iMac (2023) with OS Sonoma 14.1. I have had it a week.

As I try to install the software update, I enter my password, and that does not work.

I have tried entering my startup password, my apple ID password, and my old password. None are working.

What do I need to do?

Thanks for any help!

When you initially set up your new Mac you had to enter a user ID, a Mac password and a computer access code. What you are now attempting to enter is incorrect. Therefore, you will have to reset a new, different password. You can use the link blow to do this. Be sure to write the information down and save it in a secure place.
