CD Audiobook to iPhone Audiobook?

I received an audiobook on two cds. When I tried importing it to iTunes it shows up as music. How can I get it from a Windows PC into the audiobooks in iTunes/my iPhone?

Thanks

Each track on the "album" (the existing tracks of your audiobook) has to be set as media kind = audiobook.

To do this:

  • select all the affected tracks and click on Edit/Get Info. You will see a question Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items? If you have selected only the tracks that you wish to change, tap Edit Items:

  • this will open up the Details tab. Change to the Options tab:

  • change the media kind to audiobook and tap the OK button at the bottom of the panel (not shown in the screenshot)

Be aware that the some of the tags (the description fields for the tracks) will change on both the Options tab and the Details tab once you make the media kind an audiobook. You will need to edit the tracks (possibly individually) in order to keep your audiobooks organised. For example, the Details tab will have a chapter tag for an audiobook, that is not present for a music track. Each track will need its chapter edited individually, in order that the chapters list and play in the desired order.
