Iphone SE and Apple Watch SE compatibility

My iPhone SE 2nd gen was updated to IOS 17.2.1 today. Will it work with an Apple Watch SE 2nd gen?

Some info I've seen says my iPhone must have IOS 16 to be compatible, while other info says the SE iPhone IOS must be 16 - or higher. I've also read the Apple Watch SE is compatible with IOS 17.2.1 only if the iPhone is SX or RX. I really want to buy the watch, but obviously there is a lot of conflicting info out there. Where can I find the definitive answer to my question???

i bought an apple watch se 1, I can't pair it with my iphone x device, the software says it's not suitable, but on the back of the box it says ios 16 and above is enough, I wonder what's the solution please help me

Yes. The 16 is the minimum requirement from when those watches had just come out.

I have read a number of different answers to my question, some that say my iPhone and the SE Apple Watch are compatible, and others, like the SE 2G iPhone must have IOS 16 to work, say my iPhone, as is, will not work with that watch. Obviously, I need to find a definitive answer before buying the watch. I hope someone out there can help me.

Any iPhone on 17 or above can be paired with that watch model.
