Did Apple Design Find My iPhone to Promote Theft?

When we bought iPhone14 Pro Max we assumed that Apple as they advertised had included a feature to find my iPhone that would make it trackable even in the event of it being powered off if it was stolen. Now come to see after my mother’s phone was stolen Apple has conveniently added a feature that supports theft. All a thief has got to do is do volume up, volume down, hold side bar, click iPhone is findable after power off, and then hit temporarily turn off find my iPhone. If Apple is really interested in making the find my iPhone prevent theft why do they personally add a feature on the lock screen that allows thieves to turn off the find my iPhone. Why not make it so the phone ALWAYS must be unlocked to turn off tracking? This is a horrible flaw in Apple design. Makes it seem like Apple wants your phones to be stolen so you will pay them even more money to replace them or so you will insure the phone.

As someone who comes from a family with at least 10 Apple products, Take your business elsewhere to a company that actually tells the truth when they make an anti-theft design. Newer Apple phones are not worth the extra cost for anti-theft that as a newer feature if it doesn’t work.

Of course it will not prevent theft and Apple are not responsible for a shady character getting their hands physically on the phone but they are accountable to telling the truth about phone features. From the Lock Screen, you get the option to see find my iPhone is there to prevent you phone from being stolen and it gives thieves the option of turning it off. That is the thing Apple is personally responsible for because we were tracking them, police were on the way and boom, Apple let the thief get away because they designed this feature into find my iPhone that was designed to secretly promote theft. Is there a way to find the phone when they do that? Otherwise I am done with being an Apple Customer.

Have you removed your device from the account?

Don'ts

If the device is removed from an account after it is erased, Activation Lock will be turned off. This allows another person to turn on and use the device.

An example of my iPhone 5 is given in the GIF below. There is no "Undo" after you remove it from your account.

iPhones are designed with strong security measures to protect the privacy and data of their owners. One of the key features that ensure this is the requirement of an Apple ID and password or a passcode to access the device's contents. This means that without the owner's authorization, it is nearly impossible for anyone else to open an iPhone and gain access to its data.

  • The Apple ID and password serve as a unique identifier for each user and are used to link the device to the owner's iCloud account.
  • In the event that the owner has chosen to set up a passcode, an additional layer of protection is added.
  • Additionally, enabling two-factor authentication for the Apple ID further enhances the security of the device by requiring a secondary verification step, typically through a trusted device or phone number, to access the account.

With these security measures in place, iPhones offer a high level of protection against unauthorized access. Even if someone physically possesses the device, they will find it extremely challenging to access its contents without the owner's Apple ID and password or the passcode. This helps safeguard sensitive information, personal data, and ensures the privacy of the iPhone's owner.

It is worth noting that while these security measures provide strong protection against unauthorized access, it is essential for iPhone owners to choose strong and unique passcodes or passwords. This minimizes the risk of brute-force attacks or password-guessing attempts.
