Using Mac Studio M2 Max with Sonoma 14.2.1 with 27" Studio Display. System setting indicates a Software Update is available but when it is run it fails immediately with error reported such as 'Extension process Software Update(28641) exited'. Attached is example of the Software Install Log, Crash Log and screenshot of the Error message. Has anybody had this and found a fix?

The installation of third party Anti-Virus-ware, Cleaning-ware, Optimizing-ware and VPN's, can cause all sort of problems for macOS including the ability to update properly.
If you can not update, try in Safe Mode as per > If an error occurred while updating or installing macOS - Apple Support

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried the Safe Mode method etc and it still fails as before. I've also connected the Studio Display to my MacBook M1 which runs Sonoma and it does the same on that. I'll probably give Apple Support a try. Thanks for your help.
