Exactly the same issues with my iphone 11 since the IOS 17 updates. The IOS 17.2.1 update seems to have only made it worse. I can charge the phone to 100% before going to bed, and wake up 7 hours later to find the battery has drained to 60% overnight. No apps working in the background. Battery Health says its 98%. Ive tried resetting back to factory settings a couple of times - nothing works.

I wonder if this is Apple trying to force people into buying their latest products by making the older products operate so poorly. Trouble for me is that my iphone 11 is 10 months old, and I still have another 2 years left on my contract. Have contacted the provider of the phone who have told me I have to send the phone back to them for testing - but this would leave me without a phone.

Dont know what else to do

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Battery "draining so fast like rocket" issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

This seems purely coincidental so please check the Setting on your device.

I have upodated to iOS 17.2.1 and the battery on my iPhone drains only based on my usage and not like a rocket as described by you.

Terrible releases !

I don't use my phone for much - It's NOT applications.

The overnight install of 17.2.1 , changed my battery usage over night.

Before , for months, I'd have 70 % at the end of the day.

Immediately after the install , I have 4% warning before the end of the day and have to charge it to get there.

I have an I phone 11. But this is being reported on other models.

Well, if you went through and cleaned out all of the apps you don’t use and changed your battery setting to limit background activity after you update to 17.3, how do you know if the reduced battery drain you are seeing is not due to your activities I mentioned above vs Apple fixing the battery drain problem with 17.3? (If I’m to understand you correctly, there was some misspelled words, so I did some guessing at what you said.)

I have the same problem after updating to ios 17 the battery of my iPhone 11 depleting really fast. Does even stay for a day if I use the phone. As well as maximum battery health dropped down to 86%. Why provide update that ruins the phone instead of using. No one wants to carry a paper weight all day long. iPhones are never cheap. We pay a premium for the quality but this is what we get from apple. I have pixel 6a as well which performs way well than my iPhone, no battery issue easily goes through the day. Does not lag or heat. People might want to consider something else apart from apple if they don’t fix this battery issue. This not the first time I heard them running into battery problem. I simply don’t want to carry a paper weight. Apart from that repair cost are too high with apple device. Can really trust is replacing the battery may fix the issue since another update may come resulting in similar problem.

Every update I put in the last year killed my phone little by little until it died after 13 months. Phone was stuck on SOS and locked out for hours at least 3-5 times a week which is a joke. It’s almost like they force you to buy another phone. I bought another 11 because it has no 5g and I’ll be ****** if I ever put another update in. Awful. It’s such a scam. I’m disgusted.

I have the same issue. Prior to the release of IOS 17, my iPhone 11 had no problems holding a charge for a full day. Ever since I installed IOS 17, my iPhone has essentially transformed into a flip-phone and I need to carry a charger with me everywhere I go. Also, my battery's maximum capacity is 93%.

It seems like I have little to no choice besides buying the newest iPhone. Especially considering that the bulk of my tech products are from apple. History is repeating itself!

This is happening to way too many people for it to be a coincidence. I’ve always been an Apple customer but if they are going to continue to do this then I’M OUT! These phones cost way too much for Apple to expect their customers to upgrade to a new phone every two years. Apple needs to get back on track with customer service because Google is becoming just as good with more affordable prices and better service…

Ive been having the same issues. Next month i’m switching to a Samsung. Ive heard everything about the phones are just better than the iPhone. And their significantly cheaper. The batteries are better, cameras, honestly you name it and its better. Buying an iPhone is like buying into a really bad “designer” brand like supreme. Their phones are sloppy, designed super lazy and each year they come out with the same exact phone. Just a slightly different look. With samsung it seems like they actually put time into their phones and do everything correctly and dont cut corners. I would also like to mention ive had the iphone 8+, the 11 pro max, the 12 and the 15 pro max. And all of them have felt exactly the same from the last.
