Stoled 1000$!

I have a rather big problem, my child played a game on my phone, and made payments of almost $1000, all in the same day, I only noticed the next day. I asked for a refund, but I was refunded only $30, this is not normal, I also closed that card for fear that the game will no longer take money from me.

Then that's your main argument to Apple.

It's also a matter of what they will allow to be called a "mistake". Once, or maybe twice is a mistake. Many purchases that would need to be made in succession to hit $1,000 in a game is no longer a mistake, but intentional.

But, you're only talking to other end users like yourself here. We can only make personal comments on the rules as we read or know them, and have no way at all to make any type of decision for your issue.

About all you can do is keep pleading your case to Apple and try to get more, most or all of the charges removed. Ask for a next senior level employee if you can.

Those refunds are for purchased hardware. As long as the item is undamaged, you can bring back any Mac, iPhone, etc. within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

The 14 day window does not apply to the App Store (for nearly all items) as your purchase is not from Apple, but the third party vendor who created the app.

I assume you already tried this?

If so, then you have no other recourse. It's up to the owner of the device to set it up so a passcode is required to make purchases.

On a newer iPhone (I'm looking at iOS 17.x)

Settings > your name at the top > Media & Purchases > Password Settings > Always Require Password
