3.5mm audio input port on my MacBook Pro stopped working in the middle of song playing.

I've always used the Bose Companion 3 series II multimedia external speaker systems with all my MacBook Pro. I was listening music from my MacBook Pro M1 for 45 minutes when all of a sudden I no longer heard sounds coming from anywhere I reviewed music app the song was still playing I just was unable to hear any sound at all. I checked all potential mute setting it was negative. I disconnected the audio jack from the MacBook Pro the song defaulted to pause I tap on the play and song began to play but the sound would default to built in MacBook Pro speakers. I also notice thru system service + sound under Output the option to select external headphones was no longer listed as an option. I restarted the MacBook Pro numerous times nothing seemed to work.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.2
