Setting up a Bellsouth.net email in Mac Mail.

It took me three days and multiple calls/chats with Apple and AT&T tech support to figure this one out, so I thought I would pass the information along.

First create a Secure mail Key using the following steps.

1. Login into Att.com. using your bellsouth.net email.
2. Scroll down and find a link to "manage profile"
3. Once in profile scroll down again and find "Manage secure mail key"
4. Follow the instructions to create a new key.
5. Copy down the key for future use.

Next identify the inbound and outbound server information you need using Mail - Official Apple Support. You'll need the server information later.

Now create a new Internet Account for your Bellsouth email using the following steps.

1. System Settings > Internet Accounts > Add Account.
2. Select "add other account".
3. Select "mail account"
4. Enter the email account and password.
5. Click next.
6. Once you get the error message you should be able to adjust the inbound and outbound server information to match the information identified using the Mac - Official apple support above.
7. All change your password to the Secure mail key you copied earlier.

This should allow the process to complete and begin syncing to the Mail app.
