Apple Car Play won’t Launch -iPhone 15 software 17.2.1

I have a 2023 Ford Explorer and just upgraded to the iPhone15 pro. Ever since cannot launch CarPlay when I connect via the USB C-C cord or USB A-C. Others are able to connect in my car and I can use CarPlay in my wife’s car. It’s not a cable issue (tried multiple cables) - it seems like it is a problem with my phone being recognized by the Sync system in my car. Any ideas? I’ve done the make sure it’s not restricted and other methods but nothing is working. When I go to the CarPlay section in settings Sync is not displaying (only my wife’s car) so how do I get it to recognize my phone?

EDIT - wanted to add that my phone will charge and I can play music my selecting the USB option in “sources” it just sync/carplay
