How to I reset password on MacBook
I forgot my password for my MacBook and would like to reset it using my phone or iCloud? How do i do that ?

If you forgot the password to log in to your Mac user account, you can choose a reset option from the login window. (Seems your phone, or iCloud are not used to reset.)
The login window will appear after you turn on, restart or log out of your Mac. It's not the same as the window you may see when wake your Mac from sleep or stop the screen saver, though it uses the same password.
After making sure you're on the login window, enter any password up to three times until you see one of the three password-reset options:
Option 1: Restart and show password options
Option 2: Reset using your Apple ID
Option 3: Reset using your recovery key
