Cannot remove Login Items

In my mac with Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313), in Preferences, General, Login Items, I see a list of apps. I wish to remove one of them, but if try to select it (or any other) the selection does not remain, simply the app I select flashes once and is not selected, so I cannot use '-' to remove it. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

How to Remove Login Items for Uninstalled Apps? Hello. I have an app that I, recently, tried out on my 2023 MacBook Pro (Ventura 13.5.1). I opted to uninstall the app (using AppCleaner). The app is no longer installed. However, one artifact still remains. Under "Allow in the Background" under "Login Items", a toggle for the deleted app still remains. I found an article that suggests a plist file could remain in one of three locations: The LaunchAgents folder in the user Library The LaunchAgents folder in the system Library The LaunchDaemons folder in the system Library I checked all three. I found nothing related to this app. So how do I get rid of this? Anyone have any ideas? I also emailed the developer. Still waiting for a response.

Sys Settings > General > Login Items can't be selected nor removed I'm trying to select a Login Item for removal in Sys Settings on latest Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2 on a MBP 13" 2017 without success. Goal: To remove an app from loading at login (but not delete it entirely). Problem: Its Sys Settings > Login Item reference cannot be selected (none of the others can be either) so it cannot be removed. What Happens: Trying to select a Login Item is impossible. I can click on an item and it highlights for a moment but then immediately goes back to unselected state. The "-" icon in the lower left of the window remains deactivated (presumably because nothing can be selected). Right-clicking an item has no effect nor the delete key (again presumably because nothing can be selected). NOTE: The "+" icon is active and can be used to add login items. Things Tried: System reboot. Bug or Feature: Am I oblivious or is this a bug? I can't see any other way of removing a login item short of removing the entire app.

Try Removing from the Dock icon. Press and hold or ctrl-click to bring up the menu. Disable Open at Login.

Some apps will set themselves to open at login. They should have a setting in the app to control that, but some don’t follow the guidance.

Just ignore that list. Or uninstall the related app if you do not need it.
