I believe it’s the port on my iohone

because when I giggle the wire in the port it doesn’t make the connection to charge

Try cleaning the port out with a toothpick or unused toothbrush. If that doesn't work, make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have it diagnosed.

I would suggest that you get an appointment at an Apple Store for an evaluation of your phone.
