Can I pair an Apple Ipad 2 gen pencil with a Gen 10 Ipad?

I recently bought an IPad 10, at the time I got it I also got a 2nd Gen Pencil. I can't seem to get them to pair.

You have the wrong pencil. You need a 1st gen pencil or

an usb-c pencil.

Is there no way to use my old Apple Pencil on my new iPad Pro? I just bought a new iPad Pro, 6th get, and would love to use my old Apple Pencil.
