Disable Bluetooth auto connect for specific devices iPhone WITHOUT "Forgetting" the device? - a permission notification, perhaps before connecting.??

I see a few people have asked about not auto connecting to Bluetooth devices previously paired. Apple won’t respond and they’re closing other people from replies because they know everyone would love this feature, but it would take them money and time to implement it.

They’re only responses to turn off and that is unacceptable

What would be acceptable is an option for a pop-up saying something like previously paired Bluetooth device connect now? With the option to continue or not.

To keep this in question format my question is how do I keep my Bluetooth from automatically connecting to my wife’s car when I’m watching something and she’s on a phone call having just pulled in from work. I connect automatically and bump her call out. How do I prevent this? How do we keep previously paired Bluetooth devices from repairing without any authorization from the phone? Or Apple device?
